Local finals

A local final is a Science Fair organized by a school, or by the school board when a large number of teams are created in its area. This final normally serves to select projects that will go on to compete in the regional final.

Are you a teacher who would like to organize a local final? Contact the Conseil du loisir scientifique in your region. Also, consult the relevant documentation in the Indispensable Guide and the XYZ de l’Expo-sciences au primaire (in French).

Is there no local Science Fair in your area? Not a problem! Exhibitors can enter the regional final directly, first consulting their regional Conseil du loisir scientifique to find out the terms and conditions and the number of projects that can be entered per school.

Note, however, that students attending a school that is hosting a local final MUST enter that final; they cannot register directly for the regional final.

Certificate of participation

If you are a teacher, and would like to hand out certificates of participation to students who take part in your local final, you can order them from your region’s Conseil du loisir scientifique. They will certainly appreciate this tangible form of acknowledgement!
