Laval, March, 20, 2012 – The 2012 Hydro-Québec Montreal Regional Science & Technology Fair wrapped up this evening with the awards ceremony. Prizes with a total value of nearly $45,000 were awarded in recognition of outstanding achievements by the up-and-coming generation of scientists in the region.
For the occasion, Laval Liberty and Laval Junior High Schools played host to more than 300 exhibitors from throughout the region. From March 18 to 20, these budding scientists presented 195 competing projects to more than 4,500 visitors. The event was organized by the Educationnal Alliance for Science & Technology (AEST), in co-operation with key personnel from the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board.
12 exhibitors from this level of the Science Fair, which showcases the talent and drive of young students, will now go on to represent the region at the 2012 Super Expo-sciences Hydro Québec, Québec Final, to be held April 19 to 22 at the Centre culturel de l’Université de Sherbrooke.
